York is SO busy at the moment. I can’t remember seeing this much busyness, not even at Christmas. The busyness is all due to the fact that on Sunday le Tour de France is coming to York. The roads are lined with barriers, for the expected crowds to stand behind, watching as the cyclists zoom passed. The planters have been planted with yellow flowers; who knew that there were so many yellow flowers. The city is quite literally covered; head to toe, in bunting: it looks amazing…
The yarnbomb in Rowntree Park looks fabulous…
And Bettys have made the most adorable little cakes…
If you can I would urge you to come to York on Sunday and soak-up the atmosphere. The street near where I live is holding a street party straight after the cyclists have passed through: so if you’re in the Bishy Road area of York, be sure to pop-along. If you can’t make it to York, then do watch our beautiful city on the TV and then book yourself a trip very soon…
